Your gaming setup

Posted by admin | Show us yours | Thursday 14 August 2008 4:53 pm

This is where you get to show off your video gaming setup. But to kick things off and to be fair, I’m gonna show you mine before you show me yours…

Setup consists of a 40 inch Sony Bravia flatscreen 1080p TV rigged up to a 1000w 6.1 surround system with subwoofer (190w), central and 2 satellite speakers (135w each) to the front and a central and two satellites to the rear of the seating area. The extra speaker a 6.1 system gives you is really worth it, filling in the ‘flatspot’ behing your head and making FP shooters (my favourite genre) all the more realistic. The TV could have a better response (68ms) if I’m honest, but the picture is amazingly sharp and clear with great contrast ratio and definition.

Not shown here are a Sega Dreamcast, N64, a load of Sinclair computers and a selection of Ataris from the 70’s and 80’s including a 2600CX ‘Woody’ for some good old retro gaming which are set up as and when needed.

The modern kit is listed below.

Sony Bravia KDL-40D3500AEP LCD Television
Sony Bravia HT-DDW890 Home Cinema System 6.1 system, HDMI
Xbox 360 Premium (HDMI) with wireless adaptor
Sony Playstation 2 (composite)
Nintendo Wii (composite)

Send pics and description of your gaming setup by email to contribute@blogthreesixty and we’ll post them here for all to see!
